Frequently Asked Questions

Q:How do I start streaming with TRaX Streaming?

A:To start streaming, go to the Studio page and click the "Go Live" button. Make sure you have configured your destinations in the Destinations section first. You can also set up sources like webcam, microphone, or screen capture in the Sources section.

Q:What equipment do I need to get started?

A:TRaX Streaming works with basic equipment: a webcam, microphone, and stable internet connection. For professional quality, consider upgrading to a dedicated streaming camera, audio interface, and lighting setup.

Q:What is Friend Input Sharing?

A:Friend Input Sharing allows you to share your camera feeds, microphone, screen, or media files directly with trusted friends and collaborators. They can use your inputs in their streams with your permission, enabling seamless collaborative streaming and multi-host productions.

Q:How do I share an input with a friend?

A:Go to Studio > Sources or Profile > Shared Inputs, click "Share Input", select your friend from the dropdown, choose the input type (webcam, microphone, etc.), provide the stream URL, and click "Share Input". Your friend will receive a notification to approve or reject the sharing request.

Q:How do I approve or reject shared inputs from friends?

A:When someone shares an input with you, you'll see a notification badge and receive the request in Profile > Shared Inputs. Click on the pending request and choose "Approve" to allow access or "Reject" to decline. You can also add a reason for your decision.

Q:Can I revoke access to a shared input?

A:Yes! You can revoke access at any time from Profile > Shared Inputs. Find the input you want to stop sharing and click "Revoke Access". This immediately stops the sharing and your friend will no longer have access to that input.

Q:Is Friend Input Sharing secure?

A:Absolutely. All shared inputs require explicit approval from the recipient. You maintain full control over who can access your inputs, can set expiration dates, and can revoke access instantly. All streams are encrypted and use secure protocols.

Q:What types of inputs can I share?

A:You can share webcam feeds, microphone audio, screen shares, media files (video/audio), browser sources, text overlays, and images. Each input type has specific configuration options for optimal sharing quality.

Q:Can I set an expiration date for shared inputs?

A:Yes! When sharing an input, you can optionally set an expiration date in the Advanced Options. The input will automatically stop being shared after this date. This is perfect for temporary collaborations or time-limited projects.

Q:How do I use a friend's shared input in my stream?

A:After approving a friend's shared input, go to Studio > Sources and you'll see their shared inputs available as source options. Click "Add Source" and select from your approved shared inputs. Configure the input settings as needed for your stream.

Q:Can I stream to multiple platforms at once?

A:Yes! TRaX Streaming allows you to stream to 15+ platforms simultaneously including Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Gaming, and more. Configure your destinations in the Destinations section and enable multi-platform broadcasting.

Q:What streaming quality options are available?

A:TRaX Streaming supports professional 1080p streaming across all plans with broadcast-quality output. All plans include high-definition streaming with customizable bitrate, frame rate, and encoding settings for optimal performance.

Q:How do I optimize my stream for better performance?

A:Use our Smart Analytics to identify your best-performing content times and topics. Ensure stable internet (5+ Mbps upload), optimize your scenes with appropriate sources, and use our automated promotion tools for audience building.

Q:Where are my recordings saved?

A:Recordings are saved to your configured storage location and can be accessed through the Recordings section. You can choose local storage, cloud storage, or external drives. Recordings include full stream quality and all audio tracks.

Q:Can I record while streaming?

A:Yes! TRaX Streaming allows simultaneous streaming and recording. Your recordings will capture the full stream including all scenes, transitions, and collaborative inputs from friends at the highest quality settings.

Q:How do I create a new scene?

A:Go to Studio > Scenes and click "Add New Scene". Name your scene, then add sources like webcam, microphone, screen capture, or shared inputs from friends. Arrange and configure each source, then save your scene.

Q:Can I include friend's inputs in my scenes?

A:Yes! After approving shared inputs from friends, you can add them to any scene just like your own sources. Go to Sources, click "Add Source", and select from your approved shared inputs. Perfect for collaborative streams and multi-host shows.

Q:Can I use my own graphics and overlays?

A:Absolutely! Upload your own images, logos, and custom overlays in the Overlays section. We also provide a professional library of pre-designed overlays, alerts, and graphics that you can customize with your branding.

Q:Do overlays work with collaborative streams?

A:Yes! Overlays and graphics work seamlessly with friend input sharing. You can add overlays on top of shared inputs, create collaborative layouts, and maintain consistent branding across multi-host productions.

Q:How do I upgrade my plan?

A:Visit the Billing section in your account and select a new plan. All plans include friend input sharing features. Upgrades take effect immediately and give you access to higher quality streaming, more inputs/outputs, and priority support.

Q:Does friend input sharing cost extra?

A:No! Friend input sharing is included in all TRaX Streaming plans at no additional cost. Share and receive as many inputs as your plan allows. This collaborative feature is part of our commitment to building creator communities.
