What we've shipped.

Release notes for the TRaX browser studio. Newest first. We ship often. Bookmark this page or subscribe to the monthly digest in the footer.

Open green-room links, studio-scoped shared inputs, steadier streams

A no-login green-room link guests just click, shared inputs that stay inside the studio that owns them, mid-stream YouTube enable, and a round of streaming-reliability work.

  • New

    Open green-room join links

Share one reusable studio link and guests join the green room straight from the browser. No per-guest invite, no account, no install. Hosts turn it on per studio.

  • Improved

    Studio-scoped shared inputs

Shared inputs stay scoped to the studio that owns them, only the creator can add a source from one, and duplicate source rows are de-duped so a feed shows up once.

  • Improved

    Enable YouTube mid-stream

Turn on a YouTube destination after you’re already live. TRaX creates and transitions the broadcast without dropping the show.

  • Fix

    Streaming reliability

Encoder hardening across the board: smoother live SRT decode, no black-stream when an audio-only source has no publisher, steadier vertical (9:16) output, and cleaner teardown on go-offline.

Auto-layouts, mobile studio, and a deeper audio mixer

Smarter composition that re-flows as guests come and go, a phone-friendly studio, and an overhauled audio mixer with true pre-fader listen.

  • New

    Auto-layouts with smooth transitions

Preset layouts re-flow automatically as guests join and leave, with smooth animated transitions. Sticky seats keep people in place between scenes, and drag-to-reorder lets you arrange tiles on the fly.

  • New

    Punch-in zoom and per-source fit

Zoom and crop into any feed without leaving the canvas, and set how each source fits its slot (contain or stretch).

  • New

    Mobile studio

Run the show from your phone: a dedicated mobile studio with its own tabbed layout, including a talkback tab for field reporters.

  • Improved

    Audio mixer overhaul

True pre-fader listen (PFL), honest VU metering, and per-source volume folded into the wire so what you hear is what you broadcast.

Unified multi-platform chat + Stream Deck

Read and reply to every platform’s chat from one panel, with moderation, emotes, and delivery confirmations, plus Stream Deck control.

  • New

    Unified multi-platform chat

One merged chat panel across YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Trovo, and more. Read, reply, send emotes, and see ✓/✓✓ delivery confirmations on outbound messages.

  • New

Chat moderation + Twitch ad controls

Ban, timeout, and delete messages from the chat panel on supported platforms. Trigger Twitch mid-roll ad breaks (and snooze the next scheduled one) without leaving the studio.

  • New

    Stream Deck + control surfaces

Pair a Stream Deck (and other surfaces) to drive the studio with physical buttons.

Green rooms, talkback, and onboarding

Hold guests before they go on air, talk back to field reporters off-air, and a guided tour for new operators.

  • New

    Green rooms with hand-raise

Invite guests into a green room and bring them on when they’re ready. Hand-raise ordering, a guest cap, and invite links keep the pre-show organized.

  • New

    Talk channels / talkback

Talk privately to field reporters and guests off-air over a dedicated talk channel.

  • Improved

    Onboarding tour

A spotlight tour walks new operators through the studio the first time they open it.

Zitadel cutover + per-studio collaboration

Identity now runs on self-hosted Zitadel v4. Studios can be shared with collaborators by role, and stream-key safety is improved across the board.

  • New

    Per-studio collaboration (VIEW / EDIT / ADMIN)

Invite collaborators to a studio by email with explicit role. EDIT collaborators can run the show; VIEW collaborators can watch the operator surface without seeing stream keys.

  • Security

Stream keys + OAuth tokens encrypted at rest

AES-GCM encryption applied to all destination credentials. Existing pasted keys migrate transparently on next use.

  • Improved

    Self-hosted Zitadel identity

TRaX now runs its own Zitadel v4 instance in-cluster. OIDC redirect flow with PKCE. MFA available; MFA-enforcement policies configurable per org.

  • Fix

Destination connect: no more silent panics

AES-GCM decryption now returns a clean error instead of panicking on edge-case nonce lengths, fixing intermittent 502s when connecting destinations.

Cloud encoders + scene canvas

A real OBS-style scene canvas in the browser plus an opt-in GPU-backed cloud encoder fleet for thermally-demanding shows.

  • New

    Browser scene canvas

Free-form source placement, layering, and live switching. Build scenes in the operator UI exactly the way you would in a desktop switcher.

  • New

    Cloud encoder fleet

Opt in per show to route the encode through our NVIDIA/AMD/Intel GPU fleet. Host laptop stays cool. Browser encoding is still the default.

  • Improved

    Vertical 9:16 destination output

Toggle per destination. TRaX routes the broadcast through a 9:16 crop for TikTok / Reels / Shorts targets while keeping a 16:9 main feed.

Multi-destination output + OAuth platforms

OAuth-backed destinations for the big platforms plus arbitrary RTMP targets in the same studio. One canvas, many endpoints.

  • New

OAuth destinations for YouTube, Twitch, Kick, and Trovo

Connect once, reuse across studios. No more pasted stream keys for major platforms. Facebook and LinkedIn OAuth are in progress.

  • New

    Custom RTMP destinations

Any RTMP target works: event platforms (Hopin, Vimeo, Bizzabo), recording archives (Mux, Bunny, Cloudflare Stream), and niche regional platforms.

  • Improved

    Per-destination preview + status

See which destinations are connected, healthy, and currently receiving frames, without leaving the operator surface.

Guest links + shared inputs

Guests join with a URL. No account, no install. Producers can share approved inputs across hosts so the team's not fighting over a camera.

  • New

    Guest join links

Send a URL. The guest opens it in any modern browser and is in the studio. They never sign up, never see TRaX pricing.

  • New

    Shared inputs across hosts

A producer can publish an input (camera, screen, media file) and grant access to other hosts. Switch between them on the canvas.

  • Improved

    Participant presence

See every participant currently in the studio, their mic/cam status, and whether they’re currently on the canvas.
